Blue and yellow double on the podium when Jonna Sundling showed super form and won before the WC

The Swedish ski ladies put on a new show on Friday.
When as many as four blue-and-yellow skaters went to the finals at the World Cup in Toblach.
The strongest of all was Jonna Sundling who won ahead of Maja Dahlqvist in second place.

It was a new blue-yellow ski party on Friday when the Swedish ski ladies offered yet another great success in Toblach, Austria. As many as four blue-and-yellow skaters made it to the final in the sprint and it became extremely dramatic when Jonna Sundling, Maja Dahlqvist, Emma Ribom and Lynn Svahn stood on the starting line.

Swedish double

It was also a real bang start when the Swedes took care of places 1-4 immediately. But ahead of the settlement, it was Sundling and Dahlqvist who withdrew.

It was close to becoming an all-Swedish triple for a long time, but Jessica Diggins managed to squeeze third place ahead of Ribom. The strongest of all was Jonna Sundling who crossed the finish line unchallenged first of all and took her seventh World Cup victory in her career.
– It was a tough day, but I felt good. I feel like I’m in good shape. I had a good day. Now I will train well and compete in Planica, says the winner.

World Cup super form

Second was Dahlqvist and then Ribom came fourth and Svahn fifth in Toblach on Friday. A superb message for the Swedish side ahead of the upcoming Ski World Championships where the Swedish sprint team is in great form.

This was the last sprint of the World Cup before the WC in Planica, Slovenia, which starts on February 22.
