Blinken and Kuleba ate at McDonalds before the support package

At a press conference in Kiev, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the US will support Ukraine with over one billion dollars in new aid.

– Tanks of the Abrams type will arrive this fall, he said at the press conference where he reviewed several different support packages to be sent to Ukraine.

– Some goes to demining. Ukraine is now the world’s most mined country.

Blinken promises long-term support

On Wednesday, the US Department of Defense also announced the Pentagon that ammunition with depleted uranium is to be sent to Ukraine, writes AFP.

During his visit to Kiev, Antony Blinken also took the opportunity to meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyj to talk about the USA’s long-term support for Ukraine. This includes, among other things, future reconstruction projects.

– No one else has helped Ukraine find its way into the future as much as President Putin, says Blinken with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba next to him.

Kuleba: “McDonald’s best baked goods”

And they both came full and satisfied to the press conference. Reuters reports that the top politicians stopped at the McDonalds fast food restaurant in Kiev before speaking to reporters.

Antony Blinken ordered a large fries and Dmytro Kuleba ordered a cherry pie in front of the reporters’ cameras.

– When I was a student, my best baked goods was actually McDonalds, says Kuleba in one of the videos published from the dinner.

– I used to go to McDonalds and order a double cheeseburger and a large Coke.

– That never happened to me, replies Blinken with a light laugh.
