Björn Ferry’s harsh words after Linn Persson’s poking – questions the decision in the Biathlon World Cup: “You’re curious after all”

The competition is fierce on the women’s side in Sweden.
Which means that Linn Persson is poked in the WC sprint.
Now SVT expert Björn Ferry questions the tough decision.

The Swedish national team got off to a good start at the Biathlon World Cup with a bronze medal directly in the opening race. When Sebastian Samuelsson, Martin Ponsiluoma, Hanna Öberg and Elvira Öberg managed third place in the mixed relay.

On Friday, it’s time for the next medal hunt when the women’s sprint race is on the schedule. In Sweden, the competition is fierce especially on the women’s side and the national team captain John Luke had to make a very tough decision.

But he chooses to poke Lynn Persson, which thus gets to stand over the sprint. The four skaters who get to represent Sweden are the Öberg sisters together with Anna Magnusson and Mona Brorsson.
– It is an overall decision based on the last few weeks in the World Cup. Mona and Anna have great results, so it’s hard not to line up with them. It is a strength we have with so many talented active players, says national team coach Lukas to TT about the selection.
– It is also a difficult decision, but I like to make difficult decisions, then we have a good team.

Ferry’s opinion

Linn Persson underwent double operations before the season and has had problems with a shoulder. During the winter, she has therefore competed with a specially designed protection for the sake of the shoulder.

Now the SVT expert vents Bjorn Ferry his strong opinion about the decision to opt out of Persson, who took an individual WC silver in last year’s WC. He really questions the decision of Johannes Lukas.
– There is something haunting. People are curious about the status of Linn. The management has more control there, but it is clear that people wonder. Linn has been a bit weak, how is it with the shoulder and everything?, says Ferry to Expressen.
