Björklöven won – double blows for Djurgården

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Björklöven’s Charles Beaudoin decided when he shot the winning goal from a back position behind an obscured Matthew Galajda after 16.28 of extra time.

Galajda replaced Carl Lindbom after barely half the match when Björklöven led 1–0.

Djurgårds defender Calle Odelius brought down Björklöven’s onrushing defender Veeti Vainio, who went straight into Lindbom. The zoo goalkeeper fell to the ice and writhed in agony.

He got up, tried but then broke the match.

“It didn’t look great then and there, but hopefully it’s nothing serious, so I hope he comes back,” forward Noah Östlund tells C More.

Lindbom leads the goalkeeper league in the playoffs and was second in the regular season after Björklöven’s Joona Voutilainen. A serious injury to him would impair Djurgården’s chance of a quick SHL comeback.

Matthew Galajda conceded the 0–2 goal almost immediately, but then both he and Djurgården got up.

Östlund reduced and Liam Öhgren equalized at the end of the third period.

Nor could Björklövenbacken Vainio continue to play after the collision.

The next game in the semi-final series, which is decided in the best of seven games, will be played on Tuesday in Umeå.
