Axel saved 87-year-old Ulla who had fallen with her bicycle

When Ulla fell off her bike, she hurt herself very badly – but she was quickly helped by Axel, who drove her to hospital.
– My whole family is extremely grateful, says Ulla’s daughter Ellinor.

A few days ago, soon-to-be 87-year-old Ulla fell badly when she was out cycling. But then Axel Lindahl, everyday all-svenskan footballer for Kalmar FF, came to the rescue. He was on his way home from the golf course and had just parked the car when he was going to walk up to his apartment, but instead saw Ulla who had fallen at a nearby pedestrian crossing.

– I ran up to her and wanted to check how she was and then it turned out that it was quite bad. So then I had to act like an ambulance there and simply drive her in, says Axel.

He drove Ulla to the emergency room where she was x-rayed, and it turned out that she had broken her hip and crushed the upper hip joint. But thanks to Axel, Ulla was able to get help quickly.

An effort that touched

And Axel’s contribution touched, not least, Ulla’s daughter Ellinor Sjögren Åkesson. In a post that has been widely circulated on social media, Ellinor thanks Axel for his actions and in the comment field the love pours in.

– It’s fantastically nice. We are extremely grateful to my whole family, my daughter, my sister and also mother of course. It was so very nice what he did and that’s why I felt that I wanted to draw attention to this because he deserves the recognition and the honor that he did this nice thing that helped mom when we couldn’t do it, says Ellinor.

Perhaps the most grateful is Ulla, who is back on her feet, Ellinor announces.

– She’s doing well, she belongs to this old tribe so she doesn’t give up at first, but she was up and walking the day after the operation and came home yesterday!

– She greets Axel so much, adds Ellinor.
