Auchan Leclerc Chicken recalled everywhere in France what are the

Several pieces of chicken potentially contaminated with Listeria have been recalled by Auchan, Leclerc, Intermarché and Netto stores. A refund is possible in store.

A massive reminder. The government site Rappel Conso announced, Wednesday April 17 and Thursday April 18, that different brands of chicken sold in wings or thighs were being recalled after the discovery of Listeria contamination. Several stores are affected: Auchan, Leclerc, Intermarché and Netto. For Auchan, an “exceeding of the alert criterion for the listeria monocytogenes germ” has been announced. For the three other brands, it was the detection of the listera germ that triggered the alert.

Chicken wings affected at Auchan

At Auchan, the product concerned is the pack of eight chicken wings, it is batch 0244091521. It was marketed between March 21 and April 3, 2024 throughout France. Its expiration date is between April 1 and 3. But the brand is not the only one concerned.

Indeed, Leclerc stores in four departments of Normandy (Calvados, Eure, Manche, Seine-Maritime) are also affected. These are chicken thighs from the brand Gallic. The stores in Vire, Le Neubourg, Coutances, Saint-Pierre and Gonfreville are affected. Marketing took place between April 1 and 11, the batch number to be identified is 0244091716. The expiration date is posted as April 11.

A recall that affects all Intermarché stores

The Intermarché store is also affected as part of the sale of trays of four chicken legs from the Volaé brand. The batch number is as follows: 0244091716. Marketing took place between April 2 and 9, 2024 and the expiration date is April 9. Please note, all Intermarché establishments in France are in the viewfinder. Finally, the Netto firm, a hard discounter of the Intermarché group, is no exception to the rule. The lot number is 0244091716 sold from April 3 to 11. The expiration date is April 11, 2024. All Netto stores are affected by this recall.

A refund in store

Listeriosis can be dangerous for humans. It is possible to experience fever, headache, and body aches. “The incubation period can be up to eight weeks” specifies the government website. “Serious forms with neurological complications and maternal or fetal damage” can also occur. People who have consumed these pieces of chicken can, if in doubt, consult their doctor and report this consumption. Customers who have purchased the affected products can destroy them or return them to the store for a refund.
