One person was killed and several wounded in an airstrike on a military base in southern Iraq at midnight Friday, according to sources in the Iraqi Interior Ministry and the military.
At the Kalso base, among other things, forces from the former pro-Iranian paramilitary group Hashed al-Shaabi, now part of the Iraqi army, are stationed.
The Reuters news agency states that parts of the group participated in drone and rocket attacks against US forces in Iraq until February.
