Attack on Kiev could begin within 72 hours says Ostrobothnian

The Finnish Kenneth Gregg waited for the expulsion ban in Kiev and went to visit his home village, from which the Russians had been driven away.

On Saturday morning, Kenneth Gregg updated his Facebook page to get a taste of the upcoming Battle of Kiev at night. Sirens howled throughout the night as missiles and rockets were fired at the city. Air defense shot down most of them, according to Gregg, but 30 percent hit the city.

According to Gregg, a major Russian attack is expected to begin within 72 hours. He estimates it could start with a strong five-day bombardment, followed by an infantry attack. But the Ukrainians are ready, Gregg says.

We reached Kenneth Gregg, who had lived in Ukraine for three years, on his way to his home village of Krasilovka.

– Armored barriers have been dug around Kiev and basically the whole of Kiev is surrounded by armored barriers 15 kilometers from the center in every direction.

From his home, he is picking up food and another car, which he then hands over to the Ukrainian army. The route to Krasilovka, 30 kilometers away, is reportedly safe.

– There are no Russians in every bush.

Kiev’s defense is getting stronger all the time

Kenneth Gregg says she is currently working as a guerrilla trainer. According to him, the progress of the Russians is known as the fact that a dispersed long column has been attacked by Ukrainian guerrilla groups. The equipment has been destroyed and there are Russian troops in the villages without a clear command north of Provari.

In the direction of Irpin, the Russians have traveled five kilometers. According to Gregg, looking at the map will understand why this has been done.

– The Ukrainians will then drown them there.

A lot of new anti-aircraft equipment has been built around Kiev. It will be able to repel the attack in a few days, but after that, Gregg doesn’t know what might happen.

At the beginning of the war, the Russian Air Force bombed Kiev, but now there were three peaceful days before last night.

– If the attack does not start in the next few days, then the time will be on the side of the Ukrainians, Gregg estimates.

According to him, all the time Ukrainians will join the army and Kiev will receive new weapons. Gregg considers the Russian service lines to be poor.

Spring makes it difficult for armor to move

In Ukraine, it has already been observed that roads and terrain have softened during the spring. Images of tanks stuck in the mud have spread around the world.

– My friend posted a video of 16 stuck armor. There were not even any explosives or mines on the road. The crew had just gone for a walk, Kenneth Gregg says.

He believes that the Ukrainians will be able to defend themselves unless a mobilization is launched in Russia. Then male supremacy becomes too great. So far, no large-scale mobilization has been announced in Russia.

Western aid is helping the Ukrainians, but at the same time they are furious as to why the military alliance NATO is not helping them in the same way that happened in Yugoslavia when the genocide was going on.

– Chechen troops in particular are brutal. They have gathered women and children into buses as shields for their progress, Kenneth Gregg says.

According to Gregg, Chechen troops are now fighting in eastern Ukraine in the Mariupol and Mykolaiv region. They are said to be the very forces firing on the evacuation corridors.

The service route to the west is open

The Russians are expected to target the siege of Kiev, but connections to the west with Lviv are still open. According to Kenneth Gregg, evacuation trains depart three times a day. He estimates that less than two million of Kiev’s five million inhabitants remain.

Gregg says that there are at least 16 volunteers from Ostrobothnia in his regiment. The hockey club he founded in Ukraine is now working to rescue trapped people.

– Transport people to Lviv and by train or bus to Warsaw. This works well and at the same time supplies come back from Lviv.

People have been left behind in the war, especially in eastern Ukraine, for example in Kharkov and other eastern cities. The resistance continues even as the buildings are bombed to the ground. In many areas, the population was 75% Russian-speaking before the war.

– They fight like tigers, which must have been a surprise for the Russians, Kenneth Gregg says.

There have been few Ukrainian refugees to Russia, but there is still a small route from Kharkov to Kiev and west to Pegava.
