Eight children were attacked and injured with a knife by a man in a playground in Annecy, this Thursday, June 8, 2023. Several victims are in absolute emergency while the possibly injured attacker has been arrested.
Children have been targeted in a stabbing attack. On the morning of this Thursday, June 8, 2023, in a playground near Lake Annecy, in Haute-Savoie, an individual attacked eight children aged around 3 with knives, according to information from the Dauphine Libere. France Blue counts six children and one adult among the targets. Four children are seriously injured, two of them in absolute emergency according to BFM TV And The Parisian. Two adults are also affected, including the attacker. Three victims have their vital prognosis engaged reports the local branch of France Blue.
Several people including children were injured by an individual armed with a knife in a square in Annecy. The individual was arrested thanks to the very rapid intervention of the police.

The assailant was subdued and arrested by the police according to several judicial sources. The police and emergency services are on site to treat the victims. The Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, reacted by confirming on Twitter the arrest of the aggressor. For now, the circumstances and motivations of this attack remain unclear.
