This center received about eighty wounded, with various pathologies. The hospital had to call in the personnel of the various departments given the urgency of the situation. For the general manager, it was a race against death. Only forty people, the most serious cases are still in hospital, and we have to deal with medical prescriptions, after free treatment.

The team of Doctor Francis Somé, Director General of the Gaoua Regional Hospital Center is still active at the bedside of the wounded in theexplosion of the gold panning site. The hospital center received 83 injured. But a few days after the incident, dozens of people were able to join their families. Of all the injured, about forty had to be operated on, “ they have all been and three remain in intensive care. No one was evacuated, everyone was taken care of here.»

Open fractures, injuries to the chest and abdomen, the last injured are waiting to enter the operating room according to Doctor Florent Bananzaro, head of the surgery department. “ The explosion caused injuries to the chest, stomach and limbs with open fractures. The hospital received a financial envelope from the Presidency of Faso to help support these miners, who lost practically everything in the explosion.
