Tens have died and hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes in the floods in the border area between Thailand and Malaysia, reports news agency Reuters.
Heavy rains are forecast for the region on Tuesday, and authorities are preparing for further flooding. According to the authorities, 25 people have died in Thailand and six in Malaysia in the floods that started last week.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department, heavy rains and thunderstorms are possible as early as Tuesday, and monsoon winds are forecast to hit the region by the end of the week.
In Thailand, the Meteorological Institute warned the residents of the southern parts of the country about heavy or very heavy rains, as well as possible flash floods and floodwater overflows.
