(Finance) – The regional agency for environmental protection (Arta Abruzzo) expressed favorable opinion regarding the project extension of the runway of the Abruzzo international airport.
Arta Abruzzo’s approval was based on verification of compliance of the environmental conditions with the requirements established by the Ministry of the Environment and Land Protection. These requirements are in accordance with the decree of environmental impact assessment (EIA) of 09/23/2004 and the note from the Abruzzo Region of 10/5/2023.
The Agency underlined that, during the construction phase, they were follow all monitoring procedures of the noise, from the air quality and precautions anti-pollution, thus deserving a positive opinion. Also with regards to the requirements for the operation phase, in relation to the updated framework of residential accommodation, Arta has issued a clearance.
The favorable opinion of the Arta is conditioned by a series of obligations, such as the monitoring of air quality, noise mitigation interventions, verification of acoustic impact and the acoustic monitoring program.
