Apple rolls out iOS and iPadOS 153 fixes major security

Apple has just announced the availability of version 15.3 of its iOS and iPadOS operating systems. These versions include performance improvements, and especially several fixes for security vulnerabilities.
In particular, they fix an important vulnerability in the Safari browser, which makes it possible to know the Google identifier of an Internet user and his browsing history.

They also fix the following flaws:

  • ColorSync : a malicious file can allow the execution of a code due to a memory corruption.
  • Crash Reporter : A malicious application can obtain administrator privileges.
  • iCloud : an application can access the user’s files.
  • IOMobileFrameBuffer, Kernel : A malicious application can execute code with the same privileges as those of the system kernel.
  • Model I/O : A maliciously crafted STL file may cause an application to terminate or code to execute.
  • WebKit : a malicious email can lead to the execution of a javascript code. A malicious website can cause code execution or limit security enforcement.

It is therefore essential to update your system. You can wait for the automatic update to complete or do it manually. On iPad and iPhone, tap the settings icon, shaped like a cogwheel, then go to General, and Software update. If an update is available, it will be offered – you can refresh the interface by swiping down to make sure. Touch the sentence Download and Install to update the system.

The Apple Watch is not forgotten…

Apple has also rolled out the watchOS 8.4 update for its smartwatches. This update also fixes security vulnerabilities and improves performance. You can install the update without an iPhone if the watch is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Open the app Settings and touch General, then Software update. If the update is available, tap Install. It is recommended to leave the Apple Watch on its charger during the operation.

Finally, computers aren’t forgotten with the macOS Monterey 12.2 update, which fixes security issues similar to those of iOS and iPadOS, as well as flaws in Intel graphics drivers.
According to our colleagues from 9to5Mac, this version offers improved Safari support for the ProMotion feature (variable refresh rate and up to 120 Hz) of the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros for scrolling, as well as a completely native version of the application Music.

To update your computer under macOS, go through the menu Apple located in the corner of the screen. Select System Preferences, then click Software update. Finally, click on Update to start the operation.
