To increase its income, Apple wants to offer new services. According to journalist Mark Gurman, often well informed, the manufacturer has studied the possibility of delivering food products to homes in the United States, as Instacart currently does, relying on 40,000 partner stores.
The difference would be in the use of the Health application to provide nutrition information on purchases made, for example to offer balanced menus. But Apple would not have followed up for the moment according to Gurman because of the low margin offered by this type of service.
In addition, it is necessary to find independent deliverers and avoid problems with the law, as happened with Deliveroo, accused last month of concealed work. However, the manufacturer could consider offering its offer in partnership with a third-party company already present on the market.

On the other hand, Apple should take advantage of the arrival of iOS 16 this year to strengthen its Fitness+ service, launched in 2020, and offer new types of exercises. Apple’s goal is to compete against Peloton, which offers connected workout gear.

The manufacturer is also working on the possibility of purchasing equipment by subscription, as well as on a concept of the type “Buy now, pay later” for transactions on Apple Pay. It would thus be possible to pay in installments, with or without interest depending on the duration of the payments. Finally, Gurman expects a big update from Apple TV+, without giving details.

Thus, Apple is trying to find new sources of income while its Apple Pay service is threatened by Brussels and its legal battle against the publisher of the famous Fortnite game continues.
