The Finnish championships for mountain jumping’s normal hill will be jumped today in Rovaniemi. However, one is missing from the crowd: one of Finland’s top jumpers Antti Aaltoa not seen in the race.

The reason is clear. Reached by Urheilu, Aalto said that he had injured his back during a training session. There was a small fracture on the upper back near the neck. I had back surgery a week ago.

It takes about two months to recover. At the moment, Aalto can walk, but cannot do jumping or strength exercises. The injury should not hinder the preparation for next season.

Aalto was 38th overall in the World Cup season that ended. He was in the top 20 twice in individual competitions.

The broadcast of the normalmäki SM competition starts on TV2 at 19:00.
