Antitrust Guido Stazi appointed secretary general of the Authority

(Finance) – At the proposal of president of the Antitrust Authority, Roberto Rustichelli, the Minister of Economic Development Giancarlo Giorgetti nominated Guido Stazi general secretary of the Antitrust Authority.

It is the first time – the Antitrust Authority points out in a note – that, in the thirty-year history of the institution, an internal manager has been indicated for this position. In fact, Stazi has been part of the Agcm since its foundation in 1990. Since 2005 he has been head of cabinet at Agcom and then general secretary of Consob until 2018. Most recently, after returning to Antitrust, he was head of the Economic Evaluation Committee. He taught Economics and Competition Policy at the Faculty of Economics and Banking at the University of Siena. He is the author of writings and volumes on antitrust, regulation, digital economy.
