Antikrundan visitor Rickard Thunér never forgets: “Unbelievable”

Antikrundan visitor Rickard Thuner never forgets Unbelievable

In 1989, “Antikrundan”, which is based on the British “Antiques Roadshow”, premiered on SVT and since then there have been a total of 35 seasons.

During the summer of 2024, the 36th season will be recorded around Sweden. The tour, which usually becomes something of a folk festival, begins in Falsterbo and ends in Kiruna.

Rickard Thunér: “He was incredibly charming”

One who has been on the recording tours for several years is Richard Thuner. In 2007, he stepped into the program as an expert and in the seasons that have passed since then, Thunér has valued a whole host of objects and met countless people.

But it is an object and encounter that the expert remembers a little extra. It took place during a recording in the copper tents in Hagaparken in Stockholm. A man entered with a pair of candelabra, the model of which Thunér knew, but which he had never seen in reality.

– It was an older gentleman who had them with him and he was incredibly charming and handsome. He really absorbed all this information and was extremely happy to know all this. He was so incredibly handsome, he tells her News24 and continues:

– He had received a very low valuation ten years ago, but I could tell that they were worth ten times as much and even though he was from an older generation, which may not always show what they feel, you could see in his face that he was very happy about that meeting.

But the memory is also associated with a certain sadness, according to Thunér.

– I know he died before he could see this on TV. So this became a bit of an open wound for me, that he never got to see this. It was a very pity.
