“It is a sad story,” says Dick Bos of the Oranjeconcours De Bilt foundation. During a marathon with obstacles and dressage, the coachmen were busy with their demonstration. “The bend was taken too short, causing the cart to turn over,” Bos explains. “The driver couldn’t chase it and the ponies then ran away. They flew out of the ring, towards the south onto the road. Then they ended up stranded on the concrete blocks.”
