At the end of February, Lidl opened the gates to a new store in Eslöv, which created a great resurrection locally.
The morning for the inauguration rang the queue long – many had been waiting for this for a long time:
– I’ve been waiting for this for ten years. Something new is needed in Eslöv, it has been so dead when it comes to new stores here. And so it is good that there is an alternative to the other chains, such as Willys, ICA and Coop, one of the customers said in the queue to Skånska Dagbladet.
But all customers did not go from the inauguration satisfied. In a submitter in Skånska Dagbladet Writes a customer that she lost to take part in an offer on cheap coffee:
“To my great anger, you would open a Lidl Plus app to access the cheap coffee. Since I have an older phone, this did not go. It made me so damned.”
She suspects that many elderly people – who either do not have a phone or use an older model – will have difficulty taking part in the discount.
“Could not Lidl offer all customers an extra offer for, for example, coffee without having to download an app? There are certainly many older people who can’t do this even though they have a phone. Ashamed of you!”
In a comment to News24 says Ingrid Arinell At Lidl’s press service the following about the criticism:
“It is sad to hear about the customer’s disappointment. Lidl Sweden lowers the price of about 300 goods each week, and only some of these offers only apply to customers who are members of Lidl Plus, our customer loyalty program that is available via an app.”
