An investigation was opened by the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office after the discovery of the lifeless body of an intern at the Pierre-Paul Riquet hospital. Although the causes of death are not yet known, initial findings suggest suicide.

According to hospital management, he had worked in the operating room in intensive care anesthesia until 2 a.m., before returning to his room as usual. An intern at the Toulouse hospital, the medical student had just returned to the Pink City after completing two semesters of internships in different hospitals in the region.

Privileged suicide

In shock, the team of caregivers immediately took care of him upon discovery of the lifeless body, but it was already too late. Although the causes of death are not yet known, the circumstances of this terrible tragedy suggest suicide. In order to shed light on this matter, an investigation was opened by the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office to investigate the causes of death. An autopsy should also be carried out on the young man’s remains, as well as toxicological analyses.
