Amsterdam may want to install wind turbines next to De

Response from the province of Utrecht

In our region it often happens that municipalities argue among themselves about the installation of wind turbines, but in this case it goes beyond provincial borders. RTV Utrecht asked the province of Utrecht how it views the issue and whether it will mediate for the residents of De Ronde Venen.

This is their answer:
“The province of Utrecht and the municipality of Amsterdam keep each other informed of each other’s wind energy plans. The plans have no direct impact on each other. The municipality of Amsterdam, like the province, is going through a careful procedure in which residents on the other side of the municipal / provincial border are also involved. Residents of the municipality of De Ronde Venen therefore have the opportunity to participate in the process. Therefore, there is no reason for the province of Utrecht to take further action towards the municipality of Amsterdam or the province of North Holland of all 27 promising areas for wind energy in January, all neighboring municipalities and adjacent provinces were also informed.’
