Due to corona, it was forbidden to set off fireworks during New Year’s Eve for the past two years. This year there is no national ban, but municipalities can introduce it themselves. Rotterdam and Amsterdam, among others, have already done so. Utrecht chooses not to do that, just like Amersfoort. Two Utrecht municipalities are introducing a complete firework ban: Utrechtse Heuvelrug and Soest.
