American actress Mike Nussbaum is dead. Nussbaum died peacefully of old age at his home in Chicago at the age of 99, says AP. He would have turned 100 in just a few days.
Nussbaum has been considered the oldest professional actor in the United States, as he continued his career until his death. The American actors’ union Actors’ Equity has also recognized Nussbaum as the country’s oldest professional actor in recent years.
He is known, for example, for his roles in the films Men in Black (1997) and Field of Dreams (1987).
– I am lucky that I can still do what is the most fun in my life. I will continue it as long as I can, Nussbaum said for WBEZ Chicago when he was 94 years old.
Nussbaum was born on December 29, 1923 in Chicago. He managed to act for more than five decades on Chicago stages and in films.
