“Amel and the Fauves”: a “tribute to women and young people” for Tunisian director Mehdi Hmili

Square picture

Amel and the beasts by Mehdi Hmili will be released on screens in France this Wednesday, April 25. It tells the story of a mother and her teenage son left to fend for themselves in the suburbs of Tunis, a story of lost dignity, dearly regained. This film was released last year in Tunisia, the only Arab country where it was shown in an uncensored version.
