Downtown Paris is undergoing a temporary transformation for a new Amazon series “Motorheads,” which began filming in the area on April 16.

It is the first of about five visits between now and July, Ashley Shields-Muir, a production manager for the show, explained at a council meeting on March 26.

The show stars Ryan Phillippe and Nathalie Kelley, according to IMDb, and is set in a rust-belt town where “muscle cars are the currency,” Shields-Muir told councillors.
Locals may notice some downtown storefronts look a little different, including the Paris customer service office which bears an “Allegheny County” sign — a county in Pennsylvania — but is still open for regular service, the County of Brant said in an email.
As a result of filming downtown at Penman’s Dam Park and Bean Park, Grand River Street North was closed from Mechanic Street to Williams Street for part of Tuesday, and from 4 pm to 4 am on Wednesday.

The production company will notify directly impacted residents and businesses, Olga Denisova, special events and filming co-ordinator for the county, told The Spectator in an email.
She noted that filming has a “direct economic benefit” to the county through agreements and procurement by the production company, and local businesses may see a boost in business from the crew.
Additionally, there’s the potential for “long-term benefits” if viewers want to visit the locations where the show was shot, Denisova said.
The county has had “very good luck” as a filming location over the years, Mayor David Bailey said at the council meeting, pointing to “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Murdoch Mysteries” and Hallmark movies shot locally.
