But this year it looks like he won’t be selected – he tells a press conference.

After a successful season last year with double JVM gold and a fine third place in the Vasaloppet each Alvar Myhlbacks big goals for the year senior WC in Trondheim.
But that dream seems to be shattered – and now he is worried about another blow.
Myhlback nobbed
Ahead of tomorrow’s selection of the JVM squad, which will compete in Italy at the beginning of February, the 18-year-old has heard nothing. He interprets that as meaning that he will not be selected.
– I guess I’m not in, he says at a press conference ahead of this weekend’s Ski Classics.
– I can’t understand it. Obviously annoying as I would really like to join. It’s boring.

Last week a qualifying competition for the championship was held in which Myhlback did not participate but ran the Ski Classics in the Engadin.
– I want to do it my way, and if I’m going to perform well at the JVM, it wasn’t the best (to participate in the qualifying competition). I will not do anything that is bad for me as a rider. But it had consequences.
Alvar’s clear anger
He describes the situation as “hopeless”.
– I don’t think it should be a discussion. It takes a lot of energy which is a shame. And that it is not fair. They make a decision that they know is not good for any of us. I just think it’s totally stupid.

Now he is focusing on the Vasaloppet, but closest to Sunday’s Ski Classics competition in Marcialonga.
– Difficult to predict how the race will turn out. It depends on the conditions. But I like races that are hard from the start. And the body feels better and better.
