The Coradia Stream H hydrogen train, mainly made in the Savigliano plant, has 260 seats and a range of more than 600 kilometres. There intermediate carriage called “Power Car” where the heart of hydrogen technology resides, it represents the main source of energy. Energy is provided by combining hydrogen (stored in the tanks) with oxygen from the outside air, without emitting CO2 into the atmosphere. The high-performance lithium-ion batteries store energy which is subsequently used during acceleration to support the action of the hydrogen cells and ensure fuel savings.
