Hercules is not particularly bad and not particularly good (5.7 rating on Moviepilot). And its story, which comes from Steve Moore’s graphic novel, doesn’t rip you off your stool either. Only the cast is exciting. In addition to Dwayne Johnson are Stars like Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan and John Hurt seen in the modernized Greek legend of the gods. Hercules is a grumpy outcast who works as a mercenary. Over the years he gathered six friends around him. Together they travel across ancient Greece, living up to their reputation as fearsome fighters in exchange for gold. Eventually they get the job Army of the Thracian king to train the strongest army ever to defeat a tyrannical ruler.

Why did Dwayne Johnson wear yak pubic hair as a beard?
The story sounds a bit like a prank played on a drunk guest at a party who has just dozed off. Only in this case Dwayne was wide awake the whole time. Well, Dwayne Johnson doesn’t wear a beard privately and in most of his films and if he does, then only goatees like in Fast and Furious as Hobbs. More facial hair was asked for in Hercules. An artificial replacement was needed.
In an interview at the film’s launch in 2014, Johnson opened up about how his wildly Hercules look came about.
They put a lot of time and effort into the wigs and beards, it’s hard to believe. And by the way, the beard hair, it […] had to be installed piecemeal. So I asked my Italian designer, I’m like, ‘Matteo, what is this?’
And Dwayne Johnson got a response he didn’t expect.
He says, ‘Oh, that’s hair from a yak’. And I say, ‘Oh the yak, what part?’ And he puts the hair on my face and says, ‘Oh, from the balls.’ There are the softest [Haare].
