A few weeks before the 60th anniversary of the Évian agreements, which ended the Algerian war of independence, a sculpture representing the Emir Abdelkader was inaugurated this Saturday, February 5 in Amboise, near the castle where he had been imprisoned. This night, before the inauguration, this rusty steel sculpture, placed on the banks of the Loire, was vandalized. An investigation for “serious degradation” has been opened.
