After the double murder in Luleå – a man is sentenced to care

It was shortly after six o’clock in the morning on the ninth of March that the police and ambulance were called to the villa.

The father of the family had then found his wife and older son seriously injured downstairs after being awakened by a roar.

– I think I will lose two people in my family here. There is so much bloody blood, he said during the emergency call.

Arrested bloody outdoors

The younger son was arrested bloodied outside the villa. In questioning, the man admitted everything – but during the trial he denied murder and said it was murder.

The prosecutor requested a life sentence despite the fact that the man is considered to suffer from a serious mental disorder. The defender requested forensic psychiatric care.

The Luleå district court partially followed the defender’s line. The man is sentenced to forensic psychiatric treatment with a special discharge examination, but for two counts of murder and grossly unlawful threats.

“The acts, which are characterized by a particular recklessness and brutality, cannot, according to the district court’s opinion, be assessed in any other way than as murder,” writes the court.

The man must pay damages of close to 245,000 to the father and the estate.
