After the success of Double Trap last year, a new detective series adapted from Harlan Coben launches the year 2025 on Netflix.
Released at the beginning of 2024, the mini-series Double Trapadaptation of Harlan Coben’s novel, was a big success on Netflix, with nearly 100 million views. For 2025, the streaming platform takes the same recipe and does it again by offering a new adaptation in a few episodes of another book by the American author.
Published in 2014, the novel I miss you follows a single New York police officer, who decides to register on a dating site. She then comes across the profile of Jeff (who becomes Josh in the series), her first love, who left her without a word after the murder of her father 18 years earlier. Doubt then sets in, who is he really? At the same time, a teenager comes to make disturbing revelations to him, which will completely upset his certainties and shake up his past.
The question now is whether the series adaptation of I miss you will be faithful to the novels (the names of certain characters change for example), and especially if it will experience the same success as Double trap before her. For this, Netflix does not hesitate to mobilize actors already known to subscribers, such as Richard Armitage and Adeel Akhtar who were already in Double Trap. They are joined by Rosalind Eleazar (Slow Horses) and Ashley Walters (Top Boy) in the main roles.
I miss you is therefore like these suspense programs, in only 5 episodes, which we can easily binge-watch after the end-of-year holidays and especially to recover from the New Year’s Eve. It is indeed from this 1er January 2025 that the series, which can be watched in just 5 hours, is put online on the streaming platform. It is also possible to binge-watch other Harlan Coben adaptations, such as In the woods, without a word or even Don’t walk away.
