Actor Ray Liotta is dead

Liotta is said to have died in his sleep in the Dominican Republic, where he made a new film, writes both Deadline and TMZ.

Liotta was born in 1954 in Newark, New Jersey. After training as an actor at the University of Miami, he made his first roles in TV series such as “Another World”. He then made a series of feature films.

Many of Ray Liota’s roles were to play insidious characters with psychopathic but cultured character traits. He is best known for his role in the baseball film “Field of Dreams” from 1989 and for his role as gangster Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese’s “Mafia Brothers” from 1990.

In recent years, he has starred in the award-winning divorce drama “Marriage Story” with Adam Driver and Scarlet Johansson, and in the “Sopranos” sequel “The many saints of Newark”.
