Rocky Balboa is undoubtedly one of the most iconic roles in Sylvester Stallone’s career. At that time he made the character world-famous as a leading actor and co-screenwriter and started an entire franchise. Decades after the first part, Stallone still has no control about trademark rights.
With two angry Instagram posts Sly has now settled accounts with the Rocky producers to claim his share of the series.

Sylvester Stallone unleashes his Rocky rage
According to Deadline, in one of the posts Stallone accuses the now 93-year-old Rocky producer Irwin Winkler of only giving up the rights to the franchise to his children. Along with the picture, the action star makes his frustration more than clear:

A VERY flattering portrayal of the amazing Rocky/Creed producer, IRWIN WINKLER, by one of the greatest artists in the country…EVEN after IRWIN ROCKY has controlled Rocky and now CREED for over 47 years, I’d really like to at least a little WHAT OF THE SMALL PART of my RIGHTS back before you give it to ONLY YOUR CHILDREN – I think that would be a FAIR gesture from this 93 year old gentleman? …This is a painful subject that gnaws at my soulbecause I wanted to leave something of Rocky to my kids, but it’s always great to hear from the loyal fans… In another Instagram post just before that, Sly is also counting Irwin Winkler’s son David and his book to vent his personal anger towards the Rocky producers:

You know I love to read and I have read thousands of books but I have to say THIS is by far the worst! If you ever run out of toilet paper, you won’t be disappointed. It’s very absorbent… This one unbearably worthless crap was written by the achingly untalented David Winkler, who is the son of the remarkably untalented and parasitic producer of Rocky and Creed, though I’ve hardly seen him in all these years, the one and only Irwin Winkler and wife Margot. I have his wonderful partner ROBERT REALLY RESPECTED AND LOVED CHARTOFF who had real talent and SOUL but sadly passed away way too young……. If it wasn’t for Winkler there would have been at least three other Rocky’s, that would have been wonderful… honestly, that crew are the worst inhuman beings I have ever met in the film industry. I will forever love the loyal fans and keep fighting. !!! REMEMBER IT FEELS GOOD TO CLEAR YOUR HEART…
Both Instagram posts make it clear that Stallone is more attached to Rocky as a brand than ever. The second post in particular even degenerates into wild insults out. It remains to be seen whether there will be a reaction from the Rocky producer.
