James Cameron’s True Lies unleashes an inferno of action
Schwarzenegger plays Harry Tasker, who is just a boring company software rep to his wife Helen (Jamie Lee Curtis) and daughter Dana (Eliza Dushku). For Harry, this everyday life is a camouflage for his true calling as a US agent who protects the country from various dangers. When he wants to spice up his dormant married life with a fake mission, fiction and evil reality mix.
As usual from James Cameron, it’s also True Lies handcrafted blockbuster cinema, which in addition to an Arnold Schwarzenegger in top form, mainly boasts with massive action set pieces. With Jamie Lee Curtis, Schwarzenegger also gets a great leading actress at his side, who, among other things, makes a pole dance sequence that is as erotic as it is funny unforgettable.
The True Lies series has failed across the board
In 2023, the first season of a True Lies series was released, which was cast without Schwarzenegger or Curtis and with lesser-known stars. The adaptation, which you can also stream on Disney+, is already considered a failure. The True Lies series was canceled after just one season due to poor ratings.
