(Finance) – Aci World published the World Airport Traffic Forecasts 2023-2052which concerns the prospects of evolution of air traffic based on data from 141 countries.
Luis Felipe de Oliveirageneral director of Aci World, declared that between now and 2042 the movement of passengers it could doublecompared to the 9.7 billion expected for the end of the year, increase by 2.5 times by 2052. In particular, in 2024 passenger traffic on international routes is expected to reach i 4 billion, 5.7 billion passengers will have flown on domestic flights. According to Aci World projections, in 2042 the volume of international passengers would reach 8.7 billion and domestic ones at 10.6 billion.
Finally, Aci World also drew up the top 20 for traffic forecasts. In the world ranking of passenger traffic volumes at the end of 2023 the United States they appear at first place and to follow the Chinawhich in 2042 should carry out the overtaking. In 2052, however, after China there would be United States, India, Indonesia and Spain.
Italycurrently ninth, would drop to 14th place in 2042 and another step in 2052.
