Accident at Gröna Lund in Stockholm

An accident has occurred at Gröna Lund in Stockholm.
Several people have been injured after the accident – which occurred in a roller coaster.
The park is evacuated and a major rescue effort has begun.

An accident has occurred on one of Gröna Lund’s carousels in Stockholm. The police, emergency services and ambulance have been called to the scene.

– We are on the scene due to an alarm about an accident, said police spokesperson Helena Boström Thomas to TV4 Nyheterna at an early stage.

The police do not want to comment on what happened.

– It’s too early, we’ve just got there, says Helena Boström Thomas.

Gröna Lund’s information manager Annika Troselius tells TV4 Nyheterna that at least two people have been injured in connection with the accident that occurred in the Jetline roller coaster. The extent of the damage is unclear.

Witnesses: Roller coaster crashed

The park is vacated in this now.

Moa Hummelgård, officer on duty at the rescue service, says that they are on site with a large number of units.

– Witnesses have called and raised the alarm that a roller coaster has collapsed. We have more resources in the works, she says.

– There are injured people on the ground and people are still up in the wagons that we will help down. There are several injured, but I don’t know anything about the state of the damage.
