Above 20 degrees – then both the beach and the ski slope beckon: “Have longed”

The heat caressed over Västerbotten on Monday, with temperatures above 20 degrees. At Lake Nydalasjön in Umeå, Julia Vestman and Louise Svensson had settled down to sunbathe.

– We have been planning this all weekend, says Louise Svensson.

At the same time, Liljaskolan’s snowboard students took the opportunity to ride in Agnäsbacken in Bjurholm – in t-shirts.

Not summer yet

But even though it was warm this weekend and during Monday, we can’t say it’s summer yet.

– An average temperature of ten degrees is required for five consecutive days before we can say that summer is here. We won’t know until the middle of the week, says SVT’s meteorologist Marcus Sjöstedt.

And his colleague Deana Bajic offers a piece of advice to anyone who is not used to the strong sun:

– Take care of the UV radiation. Remember to use sunscreen, especially on small children, she says.
