A popular character from Naruto got a new look because the creator is a fan of Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves has made an impact on the Naruto universe. The creator of Naruto is a big fan of The Matrix, so he gave a popular character a new look.

What role and character is it about?? Keanu Reeves has experienced several highlights throughout his career, but he owes his current fame primarily to the role of John Wick.

Reeves is even popular in video games. For example, he appears in Cyberpunkt 2077 and plays an important part. At the end of the 90s, he impressed viewers with his role as Neo in The Matrix and apparently he also reached out to the creator of Naruto, Masashi Kisimoto.

Gaara got new look because of Matrix

Masashi Kishimoto, the creative mind behind Naruto, has repeatedly expressed his admiration for the sci-fi film The Matrix. This admiration found its way into Naruto Shippuden, and was particularly manifested in Gaara’s new look.

What does Gaara’s look like in Naruto Shipudden? Gaara, a key character in the Naruto saga, received a striking clothing design inspired by Keanu Reeves’ role as Neo from The Matrix. In Naruto Shippuden, Gaara wears a long, dark red coat with a grayish chest protector and dark pants.

A seemingly inconspicuous detail, but one that stands out upon closer inspection: the belts that adorn the coat are strongly reminiscent of Neo’s signature outfit. These belts are used to hold Gaara’s gourd bottle, in which he stores his chakra-infused sand.

Despite the weekly pressure to produce highly detailed drawings for Shonen Jump, Kishimoto consciously chose to create detailed artwork in homage to The Matrix.

Who is Gaara? Gaara is a key figure in the plot and makes significant appearances in both Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. Gaara, nicknamed Gaara of the Desert, comes from the village of Sunagakure and is the son of the fourth Kazekage.

He is originally introduced as an antagonist in the Chunin Selection Exams. However, as the story progresses, Gaara undergoes a profound development and becomes an ally of Naruto Uzumaki.

This creative approach from Kishimoto also extends to other characters, such as Rock Lee, who was inspired by Bruce Lee.

What do you think of Gaara’s look and did you know beforehand that it was based on The Matrix? Feel free to write it to us in the comments.
