A new update brings functionality so that you no longer have to be ashamed of your embarrassing games

Steam is bringing a new feature that allows you to hide your games. This is useful if you don’t want everyone to see what you’re playing. There are also a few other useful improvements, for example for your shopping cart on Steam. You can read all the information about this directly from us on MeinMMO.

Valve regularly brings small but nice improvements to the Steam client. With the latest update you can not only synchronize your shopping cart across multiple devices, but also hide games that you don’t want everyone to see. Is your favorite game too embarrassing for everyone to see? Then you can hide it now.

You can now hide purchases and games on Steam

What’s the point? From now on you can hide which games you buy or which games you are currently playing on Steam. This is especially useful for people who want to play titles that are embarrassing to play in public.

So if you start a game that you don’t want your friends to see, you can now hide this game. Your friends will no longer see if and when you start the game or when you collect achievements.

Do you have a soft spot for hentai? Or did you never dare to buy a “special” title because you were too embarrassed to do so in front of your friends? Then you can now buy it and play it without anyone on your friends list seeing it.

How does this work?

  • You go to your library and right-click on the game.
  • Then go to the manage tab and click on “Mark as private.”
  • Now the game is “private”. You can set the game back to “normal” in the same way.
  • If you buy a new game, you can select the note “For my account: private” directly in the shopping cart.

Optimized purchases and improved shopping cart

What else came with the update?

  • Inline Gifts: Buy gifts for multiple friends at once with just one transaction and with streamlined notifications for hassle-free checkout.
  • One Cart Across Devices: Your shopping cart will now seamlessly sync across all devices you log in on (including Steam Deck and mobile), ensuring a consistent shopping experience no matter where you purchase your games or software.
  • If you now put a game in your shopping cart, you will also see a new interface and can confirm again that you really want to buy the game.

If you still need more games: Some games particularly benefit from the better display and HDR options of the new Steam Deck OLED. MeinMMO introduces you to 12 games that you should take a look at.
