Samsung Electronics Turkey announced the appointment of Jeff Jo as the new president. Taking over from Philip Choi, Jeff Jo began his career in the Corporate Affairs department at Samsung Electronics’ headquarters in South Korea in 1997. He rose within the company and worked in the Mobile Foreign Sales department in 2004.

Jo, who performed successfully as the Mobile Business Unit Manager in Thailand in 2009 and then in Australia in 2014, was appointed as the Head of Mobile Retail Operations in 2017. In this role, he developed the retail operations and customer experience of the company’s mobile products.

Appointed President of Samsung Electronics in Canada in 2019, Jo achieved significant success in increasing the company’s effectiveness and market share in the North American market. Jeff Jo, who was appointed as the President of the Mobile Experience Retail Group in 2021, achieved significant success by taking on critical roles in this position until he was appointed as the President of Samsung Electronics Turkey. Jeff Jo started his work as the President of Samsung Electronics Turkey as of December 11, 2023.

Jeff Jo said the following about his new position:

“As a technology enthusiast, I see 2024 as an important turning point. As artificial intelligence becomes more deeply integrated into our daily lives, the smart device ecosystem experience will undergo a radical transformation. Artificial intelligence is a phenomenon that makes significant contributions to environmental sustainability, as well as the effective use of technology. From this perspective, 2024 will be a year in which artificial intelligence transforms our daily lives. As Samsung, we are an important part of this transformation with our artificial intelligence-enabled products and SmartThings ecosystem. “I am very excited to follow this transformation together with Turkey,” he said.

Jeff Jo also underlined Turkey’s young population structure and said, “With our Innovation Campus and Solve for Tomorrow corporate social responsibility programs, we will continue to provide social benefit by improving the competencies of Turkish youth in technologies and sustainable development that shape the future.”
