Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: with Baboon

In Professor McGonagall’s (Maggie Smith) transformation lesson in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the magic students are supposed to transform animals into a goblet. Several real animals were used during filming. But one thing in particular caused a stir “naughty baboon”:

The baboon in question was – how should I put this? – not versed in polite social interaction and set etiquette. And above all, he didn’t know what behavior was appropriate in front of children. What I’m trying to say is that while we were filming this scene, we were… disturbing distraction of a self-satisfying primate had to deal with. The child stars couldn’t ignore the masturbating Harry Potter 2 troublemaker

Along with animals, children are considered the most difficult factors to control during a shoot. Rupert Grint’s laughter in particular is said to have caused so many interruptions that he paid heavy fines for it. In the transformation classroom of Harry Potter 2, both “disturbing elements” were present in large numbers, including children and animals:

There was Lots of shots that had to be discarded because the baboon was jerking off in the background. They had to move the poor creature several times to keep it from ruining the scene with its lively pastime. And you can imagine the chaos that would ensue every time one of us… children spotted out of the corner of their eyeswhat just happened […].
