A Daffodil Against Cancer is an annual campaign of solidarity andcall for mobilization and collection of donations for cancer research, led by the Institut Curie, the leading French center for the fight against cancer. What is the theme of A Daffodil Against Cancer in 2024?
In 2024, the campaign celebrates 20 years of progress against cancer and above all aims to support and accelerate the research and innovations carried out at the Institut Curie to defeat cancer. Cancer genetics, immunotherapy, cell therapies, innovative radiotherapy… there are many areas in which researchers and doctors are investing to develop the therapies of tomorrow and cure more patients.
List of events for a Daffodil against Cancer 2024
► Tuesday March 12, 2024: Launch ceremony for the 20th edition of Une Daffodil Against Cancer, in the presence of the official sponsors of the campaign. The Jonquille Village in Paris will host for the first time a Lego fresco measuring 6 m by 2.5 m, representing the symbol of the Daffodil. The installation of the mural will mark the official launch of the campaign. The fresco will be finalized by the godparents of the 2024 edition when they come to the village on March 12 at 1 p.m.
► All people in solidarity with this great cause will be able to come and buy Daffodils and related products on the sales stands at the Daffodil Village Place du Panthéon (Paris 5th) and at the entrances to the Institut Curie hospital sites (Paris 5th – Saint-Cloud 92)
► For the first time: unprecedented operation Jonquille d’Or which puts 4 places at stake for the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, offered by Allianz France. From now until April 2, 2024, 6 p.m., any adult resident in mainland France can participate in this exceptional operation : to do this, simply do a donation or solidarity purchase of a minimum of €5 to the Institut Curie. In exchange, donors will receive a lucky ticket Golden Daffodil equipped with a unique 6-character code. This code will allow them to register online for the draw which will be held on April 10, 2024.
► Across the entire French territory and online, the Institut Curie is launching its connected challenge “the Daffodil race against Cancer”, covering a maximum of kilometer together against cancer, where energy is transformed into a donation , with 1 euro donated to the Institut Curie
► Throughout the month of March: sales of sharing products, round-ups at the checkout, calls for donations, sporting events, solidarity events and sales… Generosity actions in the colors of the daffodil will flourish throughout France thanks to the mobilization of partner companies, associations and individuals.

Every year, the public is invited to participate throughout France in the connected challenge of the “Daffodil Race“. This year, the connected race takes place during the event. ► In 2023: 1.4 million euros collected for early diagnosis and screening
► In 2022: 1,060,000 euros in donations collected made it possible to support research and projects dedicated to adolescent and young adult cancer.
► In 2021, the donations collected (899,000 euros) were intended big data and artificial intelligence in order to improve cancer research and medical innovation, better understand cancer disease in all its complexity, and predict its evolution to better combat it.
