The goalie’s anger when the puck goes into the goal – gets clubbed in the head

The match started with a different situation, when Djurgården gets the puck into the goal. In front of the goal stands Djurgården’s Anton Frondell, and his stick is held by a Nybros Jesper Mångs. When he tries to break free, he raps Nybro’s goalkeeper Tex Williamsson in the head.

Seconds later, Djurgården’s Tyler Kelleher shoots the puck into the goal. Then comes an angry protest from the Nybro goalkeeper.

– Tex Williamsson seems to have some points of view. He gets Frondell’s blade to the mask, when Frondell wants to break free, says TV4’s commentator Richard Hermansson.

After video assessment, the referees state that the goal should not be allowed.

– Blue player presses his stick on the goalkeeper’s head, hence no goal, says the referee in the arena.

A few minutes later, Nybro scores the match’s first approved goal instead, through Alex Ciernik. The score after one played period is 0-2 to Nybro.

– He’s holding my stick and I’m just trying to take it back. Unlucky that I hit their goalkeeper. The referee is right, says Anton Frondell about the situation in the first period, and is disappointed with the game:

– I think it looks sloppy and fussy, nonchalant.

The second period was scoreless.

Monster save in the third

Djurgården received a reduction in the third period. In the pursuit of the equalizer that followed, Nybro’s goalkeeper Tex Williamsson made a real monster save.

– What kind of goalkeeper effort is that!? He takes it with the picking glove. Saying five-star rescue is not enough, says commentator Hermansson.

Djurgården never managed to get the equaliser. Williamson’s brilliant goalkeeping, with 42 blocked shots, was to a great extent contributing to Nybro taking three points.

Djurgården is now slipping behind Karlskoga, who are extending their league lead.
