Cross-country skiing: Edvin Anger’s anger after the quarter-finals in Lillehammer

Watch Anger’s outburst in the video above.

Edvin Anger had a chance at the sprint semi-final in Lillehammar. The 22-year-old was among the top two for a long time, but in the race the Swede lost and finished third.

– It’s very sad because I feel very energetic and great. But then the material messes up and you get fucked. I thought, how am I going to pull this off? It’s so bad.

After the race, Anger was really pissed off and disappointed. The 22-year-old shouted out his anger. He explains that the bond broke.

– I wanted to stand on the podium, but thanks to the material breaking, that won’t happen. It’s damn boring. I don’t know what went wrong, they have to look into it, says Anger to SVT Sport.

Kläbo won

The other Swede who made it to the quarter-finals, Emil Danielsson, was eliminated by the smallest possible margin, two tenths.

– I’m disappointed, it’s too bad. I do really badly on the last hill. It gets tight there and I can’t make it when it gets steeper, says Danielsson and concludes with:

– I don’t want to be in the quarter-finals, I want to be in the semi-finals.

It was double Norwegian at the top. Sovereign Norwegian Johannes Hösflot Kläbo was superior and took home the victory. Even Northug finished second and Italian Federico Pellegrino third.

The competitions in Lillehammer end on Sunday with the 20 km skiathlon for both ladies and men.
