Ireland is going to early elections on November 29

In her statement before the meeting with Higgins, Prime Minister Harris noted that the coalition government had prepared 5 budgets and that these budgets kept Ireland afloat against the problems brought by the Covid-19 epidemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.

“WE ARE A SMALL COUNTRY BUT OUR IMPACT ON THE WORLD IS HUGE”

Stating that important steps have been taken to meet the housing need in the country, Harris said, “It is now time to ask for a new authority from the Irish people.” he said.

Stating that Ireland is known as the “country of conscience” in the international arena, Harris said, “Thanks to our past record and moral compass, what our population of 5 million has to say is listened to. You can see this most clearly in our recognition of the Palestinian state. We are a small country, but our impact on the world is huge.” he said.

Stating that the most honorable duty he has held in his life is being the Prime Minister of Ireland, Harris said that he will seek authorization to become prime minister again.

“If you trust me, I’ll give it my all,” Harris said. He completed his statement with these words:

After his speech, Prime Minister Harris went to Aras an Uachtarain, where the Presidential offices and official residence are located, to meet with President Higgins.

After the meeting, Higgins signed the resolution calling for the dissolution of the Dail and holding early elections on 29 November. With the President’s dissolution of the lower house of parliament, the Dail, election campaigns in the country officially began.
