I have now handed in my resignation today, which is effective from the turn of the year. I spoke to Roger Johansson this morning where I explained that I need a few days/a week to sort out everything about the practical and financial aspects of the region. There are a number of issues of detail that still need to be sorted out.
I told him I have kids to support and rent to pay. I need to know that I don’t suddenly run out of money and that there will be a gap between payments before I can return to my position at Sundsvall municipality, from which I am now on leave. I also told him that I understand that you want to feel confident that I have formally resigned so you can feel confident that the process is moving forward. Therefore, I can submit my resignation today to the council that I will leave my duties from the turn of the year.
I was met with complete incomprehension in a very unpleasant tone which made me sad and disappointed. I want this to be good for the Social Democrats, the political majority and the healthcare system, but also for me and above all for my children.
I would also like to take the opportunity to congratulate Viktoria Jansson on taking over the role as chairman of the health and medical care board. During our years together, I have come to know her as a wise and confident person and I wish her all the best in her mission. I will be available during this period and in the future if she desires any handover or any support and advice.
