In Diablo 4 you can explore the world not only on foot, but also with your mount. However, you will also encounter numerous monsters there – and when they attack you, your horse will throw you off and run away. The upcoming patch 2.0.4 should change that.
With Season 6 and Vessel of Hatred, the developers have given Diablo 4 a major overhaul. However, some changes apparently mean that individual enemy hits are now being thrown from your mount – especially on higher difficulty levels.
The annoying thing about it: If you are thrown off, you have to wait 10 seconds until you can get back on your mount and then continue on foot. This is particularly annoying when you’re in a hurry – for example because the world boss is spawning in the next few minutes or because certain timed tasks are expiring.
The cowardly mounts were also an issue on X. There, a user asks Blizzard in the comment to fix the mounts. At torment level 4, one hit is enough and you fly down. This makes it pointless to use the mounts at all. Community Director Adam Fletcher responded to this on October 22nd, writing: “There will be a solution for this soon.”
The new torment levels replace the old, often criticized world levels. You can find out more about the new difficulty levels in the video:
Patch 2.0.4 makes your mounts more resilient
When will the solution come? With the upcoming patch, Blizzard is revising the damage that must be dealt to a player character in order for them to be thrown from their mount. Patch 2.0.4 is coming to Diablo 4 on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
The patch notes on Blizzard’s website specifically state: “The amount of damage required to force a dismount has been increased to make forced dismounts less common in the endgame.”
The patch also brings a number of bug fixes and a few adjustments to seasonal content. The full English patch notes can be found on page 2 of the article.
What else does the patch bring? Patch 2.0.4 reworks content related to the Vessel of Hatred expansion. Varyana’s life points in her quest will be reduced and new loading screens will be introduced to match the new Nahantu area.
In addition, Blizzard is increasing the maximum number of gem fragments so that you can collect more of them. The bug that existed with the boss “The Beast in the Ice” will also be fixed. There it happened that the boss could not spawn if players summoned him again at the altar in the crevasse.
The season mechanic, the realm shifter, is also being revised again. At the beginning of Season 6, players criticized that the event was simply too boring and the realm shifter itself was too slow. Blizzard has already made changes. Patch 2.0.4 ensures that the health of the realm shifter is doubled and another wave of monsters can spawn.
Patch 2.0.4 is coming to Diablo 4 on Tuesday, October 29th. The Halloween event also starts on that day, where you can get free skins for your mount. In addition, there are shrines in dungeons that can have a surprise effect. And the butcher also wants to play a game with you.
