  • Car and horse have collided

    During Thursday morning, the police received an alarm about an accident between a car and a horse in Bjuv.

    Between four and six horses ran loose and had made their way up to the roadway, according to the police.

    The police have been on site during the morning and captured five horses.

    A foal was hit.

    In a new forecast, state bank SBAB expects that the variable mortgage interest rate, measured as the average interest rate on the entire mortgage market, will be 3.1 percent in time for the summer.

    According to the bank’s forecast, the variable interest rate will then rise slightly, to 3.3 percent, in January 2026 and then remain around that level for the following two years.

    The forecast for the mortgage interest rate is based on the Riksbank lowering the interest rate by a further 0.75 percentage points before the turn of the year and then by 0.25 percentage points in January and May next year.

    SBAB believes in a double reduction of 0.50 percentage points in December.

    In January next year, SBAB believes that the three-month interest rate will be 3.4 percent.

  • Several dead in Russian airstrikes in Syria

    At least 10 civilians were killed and 30 wounded when Russian forces carried out several strikes outside Idlib in Syria on Wednesday, according to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

    Among the dead is a child and among the injured are 14 children, according to SOHR.

    Among other things, a furniture workshop is said to have been attacked, according to the opposition civil defense group White Helmets.

    Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, an extremist movement sprung from al-Qaeda, controls parts of Idlib province.

    The United States has carried out airstrikes against several military targets in Yemen belonging to the Iran-backed Houthi movement, reports ABC News.

    Australia is donating 49 tanks of an older model to Ukraine, the country’s Ministry of Defense says.

    The American-made M1A1 tanks, equipped with heavy firepower, were supposed to be decommissioned starting next year.

    “We stand side by side with Ukraine in their fight against Russia’s illegal invasion,” Australian Defense Industry Minister Pat Conroy said in a statement.

  • Quarrelsome couple triggered flood

    A couple are now wanted by Australian police after two train stations in Melbourne were flooded last week. The couple is suspected of having made out so wildly in a stairwell that they broke a sprinkler.

    State Transport Minister Danny Pearson says it first appeared to be “deliberate vandalism”. But, he continues at a press conference where he can’t help but laugh:

    – After studying surveillance video, it appears that a loving couple, on a staircase, set off a sprinkler.

    Liam Payne, former member of One Direction, has died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires.

  • Man dead after shooting in Osby

    Shortly before 10pm on Wednesday evening, the police received a call about a shooting in Osby in Skåne.

    A man in his 20s is found injured at the scene.

    – He was found in the central parts of Osby, at a gas station, says police spokesperson Fredrik Bratt.

    The man is taken to hospital by ambulance.

    – We also have staff at the hospital and have increased security there.

    The injured man, who is in his 20s, has died, the police announced later in the evening on their website. Relatives have been notified. The incident is being investigated as a murder.

    The police have cordoned off the suspected crime scene. No one is arrested.

    On the site downdetector.se several alerted during Wednesday evening about major problems with Telia around the country. Mainly the reports were about the problems with the television services.

    Later in the evening, Telia’s press officer announced that their technicians had solved the problem and that everything should now work as usual.
