Two Utrecht residents have been arrested for smishing. This is a form of cybercrime in which text messages are used to obtain personal information. According to the police, the arrested twenty-somethings stole thousands of euros a day from their victims. They sent about 150,000 text messages and pretended to be from the Tax Authorities.
