‘Small, but not innocent’, residents of Bunnik had to leave their homes because of the bomb

Small but not innocent residents of Bunnik had to leave

An emergency ordinance applies in part of Bunnik from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. tonight. This has to do with a bomb from the Second World War that is being dismantled by the Defense Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (EOD).

For safety reasons, 16 homes in Koningin Emmastraat and Koning Willem III Street have been evacuated, as well as part of the timber yard site. No trains will run between Utrecht and Driebergen between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. due to the clearance. Once the aircraft bomb has been dismantled and removed, the mayor will release the area and the emergency ordinance will be revoked.
